This is concealment, not invisibility: it lowers the thermal contrast between what it covers and the background, and its effect depends on ambient temperature, exposure time and the sensor used. It also keeps rain, snow, wind and direct sun off, and goes on or comes off in about 30 seconds. How to get the most out of it: • Leave an air gap between the cover and the housing where you can — it makes the concealment work better and last longer. • Brought from a warm place into the cold, the outer layer has to settle to the outside temperature first. • Break the outline: add netting or local vegetation rather than leaving a clean rectangle in the open. • Never cover an open flame. • Fix it only with its own fastenings; do not cut extra holes or stretch it over sharp edges. • Keep acids, alkalis and solvents away from it, and never machine-wash it.
